Abstract

Miracle stories form one of the most important sources for the study of every day life in the Middle Ages. They were written down all over Europe in thousands from the 11th century and onwards. In this report over 900 such miracles from the Nordic countries have been presented in a catalogue, and an introduction present how they can be used as a source for cultural history and everyday life. Expecially longer journey are discussed, but alo a number of other topics, such as work and children.
