Ahead of the swedish 2018 election, a study was conducted on the voter bases of the Swedish parliamentary parties and how they differ both from one another and within groups. Since then, the political landscape has changed significantly, one reason being the Sweden Democrats’ transformation from a marginal movement into one of the largest parties in parliament following the 2022 election.
In light of these changes, this study aims to understand how they may have influenced voters’ attitudes and values, possible shifts in the parties’ voter bases, and voter movements between parties. The questions posed are largely the same as those used in 2018 and concern, among other things, trust in institutions, perceptions of society, well-being, values, and sociodemographic characteristics. Additional questions tailored to the political context of 2026 will also be included.
