Tobias Krantz new Chair of the Institute for Futures Studies

The Swedish government has appointed Tobias Krantz as the new Chair of the Board of the Institute for Futures Studies. Tobias Krantz’s appointment as Chair runs from 23 April 2026 to 31 December 2031.

Tobias Krantz is a former member of parliament and former Minister for Higher Education and Research. He has served as Head of Education, Research and Innovation at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and, on behalf of the government, has conducted an inquiry into Sweden’s national research infrastructure. He has also been Chair of WaterAid Sweden. He is currently an Associate Partner at the communications agency Diplomat Communications. Tobias Krantz holds a PhD in Political Science from Uppsala University.
