The Institute celebrates 40 years

This year the Institute for Futures Studies celebrates 40 years of research. The anniversary was celebrated together with some of the people who are and have been important for the Institute.

Among the guests were Lena Sommestad, former CEO of the Institute, the current chairman Bengt Westerberg, former chairman Carl Tham, Christina Florin and Arne Jernelöv - both researchers who have been working at the Institute, and board member Arne Kaijser. We were also happy to celebrate with guests from other organisations that are important to us, for example our accountant Ove Olsson from BDO, Mats Lindgren from Kairos Future, Erland Hjelmquist from FORTE, Göran Blomquist from Riksbankens jubileumsfond and Björn Wittrock from SCASSS.

In connection to the jubilee Lars Ingelstam told us the story about how and why the Institute was established in 1973, and about the first years of research. Lars Ingelstam was the first director of the Institute.
Listen to his story.
