Future Barometer: The concerns and expectations for the future in Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Ukraine

This project will aim to understand the public's future-oriented attitudes in different contexts in order to understand how to better strengthen societal resilience.

Our societies face increasing uncertainty due to rapid technological advancements, the climate crisis, geopolitical shifts, and evolving social values. Understanding public perceptions of the future—anxieties, expectations, risks, and opportunities— is crucial for societal resilience.

This project explores future-oriented attitudes in Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, and Poland, offering diverse perspectives shaped by distinct political, economic, and cultural contexts. By analyzing how citizens envision the future, we can identify common concerns, unique national perspectives, and areas for policy intervention.

The project provides valuable insights for stakeholders, emphasizing the need for proactive, collaborative approaches to future uncertainties. Through cross-national research and public engagement, it aims to enhance understanding and shape informed responses to emerging challenges.
