Martin Kolk: Low-fertility countries are responsible for almost all of the CO2 emissions

Do we need to reduce population growth to address the climate challenge? From the perspective that each person contributes to green house gas emissions and resource consumption, it is a logical thought. But is high fertility and rapid population growth in some countries also a problem then? It is less clear, because all countries with high fertility today are poor and account for a very small proportion of total emissions and total resource consumption. Martin Kolk, associate professor of demography, adresses this issue.
