Do we need to reduce population growth to address the climate challenge? From the perspective that each person contributes to green house gas emissions and resource consumption, it is a logical thought. But is high fertility and rapid population growth in some countries also a problem then? It is less clear, because all countries with high fertility today are poor and account for a very small proportion of total emissions and total resource consumption.
