Christian Rossipal

I primarily do research in film and media studies but also work as a filmmaker and curator. My main interests lie in film archives, migration, and media archaeology.

I have published my research in journals such as Film Quarterly, The Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, and Routledge Key Issues in Cultural Heritage, and have taught at New York University and the City University of New York.

At the Institute, I am working on the research project The Black Shore: Visual Archives between Swedish and Caribbean Horizons, which utilizes artistic methods to explore Sweden's colonial history in the Caribbean.
