I am Professor of Criminal Law at Stockholm University, and my research interests include:

  • The construction of criminal law and the concept of humanity (especially in relation to mental disorders and other psychological deviations)
  • The attribution of criminal responsibility, including intriguing components such as requirements for action and consciousness/awareness, justifying and excusing circumstances (e.g., self-defense, necessity, consent, mistake of law), participation (perpetration, solicitation, and complicity), attempts and preparation, withdrawal, mental disorders, and other psychological deviations
  • Broad questions concerning equality, equal treatment, discrimination, justice, etc.
  • Responsibility, to be held accountable, capability for responsibility, etc., as phenomena.
  • Environment, workplace environment (crimes related to this)
  • Various interdisciplinary projects and collaborations (primarily with political philosophy so far, otherwise philosophy, history, political science, psychology, (forensic) psychiatry, criminology, anthropology).
