Bi Puranen at symposium on security in Europe

FOCUS, a EU security research project (Foresight Security Scenarios – Mapping Research to a Comprehensive Approach to Exogenous EU Roles) will be arranging a final symposium on the 31st of January and the 1st of February.

FOCUS has elaborated a set of scenarios, based on IT-supported foresight, ranging from natural and man-made disasters to terrorism and malicious attacks on Europe’s critical infrastructures. Along with its multiple scenario work, two of the project’s main deliverables are the creation of a long-term prediction and assessment tool at EU level as well as a roadmap to plan and prioritize future Security Research objectives.

On February 1st Bi Puranen, Secretary General of the World Values Survey at the Institute for Futures Studies, will contribute to the symposium with the presentation ”The emerging mass basis of human security”. The symposium will be held at Danuby Unviversity in Krems, Austria.
