Research Seminar

Jo Wolff: Philosophy and public policy

Date: 22 April 2016
Time: 10:00–12:00

Jo (Jonathan) Wolff, Professor of Philosophy at University College London

ABSTRACT
Moral and political philosophers typically hope that their theories and arguments will have a positive influence on real world events. In this talk I will consider how reasonable this hope is, looking particularly at the questions of whether philosophical ideas can connect with issues in public life, and the mechanisms by which philosophers might be able to influence public affairs.

See Jo Wolff talk about "Social equality and relative poverty".
