Child Health and Family Income: Physical and Psychosocial Health

Ruth-Aïda Nahum 2007

This paper provides a detailed investigation of the family income/child health relationship focusing on physical and psychosocial health, parent’s socioeconomic background, and liquidity constraint problems of the household. Little evidence is found for income gradient on children’s physical and psychosocial health, while occurrence of liquidity constraints in the household increases the likelihood of the child having a lower psychosocial health status.
